We are an advocacy organization, but we also provide useful information and other services to members and friends.

FOOPD's Position on Dog Parks
Oak
Park requires proper, permanent dog parks. Safe, secure and adequate
facilities are good for all our citizens. FOOPD supports this goal.
Permanent dog parks:
• Provide
needed space for active play and healthful exercise for both dogs
and their owners.
• Enable dogs to socialize with dogs and with people,
making them happier, better adjusted, and in general better "citizens."
• Take
the stress off of other facilities frequented by dogs on leash.
• Make
it easier to manage and monitor the dog population by promoting licensing
and recorded
immunizations for all dogs that use the parks.
